How Does the Fund work?
Financial assistance is provided to qualified applicants in situations which can not be funded by other sources, public or private. Who is eligible? Our primary focus is on applicants who are steadily employed who experience a temporary financial emergency or need that cannot be funded by other public or private sources. Unemployed applicants who have a steady work history and are receiving unemployment insurance, worker’s compensation, or short term disability benefits may also qualify.
To request help, the People For People Fund requires that an application be completed to be considered for assistance. How can the Fund help these individuals? Depending on the need exhibited and the circumstances involved, examples of the types of assistance we might provide include payment toward housing costs, automobile repair and insurance, utilities, health care, or travel expenses for emergency situations.
There are budgetary restrictions with respect to the amount of aid or the fact that assistance was previously provided. In general, assistance may be granted once in any given year. The Fund does not intend to provide “Annual” assistance. Those whose financial arrears are so serious that our limited emergency assistance will not allow them relief from their difficulties shall not be eligible for consideration. Discretion resides with the Executive Director under the oversight of the Board of Directors. | |||||||||||||||||
